GULLY BOYS melodic tunes and raw lyrics make it hard to believe that in 2016, none of them knew how to play their instruments. Drawing inspiration from a multitude of musical back grounds, Gully Boys transcends genre. Through hard work, diligent practice and fresh enthusiasm Gully Boys have recorded their first LP Not So Brave released August 12th and won City Pages 'Picked to Click 2018: Minnesota's Best New Band'.
GENDER CONFETTI!!! is a cute queer punk band from Madison, WI, made up of Elyse Clouthier (all pronouns) and Sylvia Johnson (they/them or she/her).
The duo pulls sonic inspiration from a wide range of genres, including riot grrrl, surf rock, hardcore, pop punk, and disco glam. Their message is radical and explicitly political. They write songs about queer liberation, anti-capitalism, gender deviance, polyamory, trans rights, ethical communication, mutual care, romantic friendships, genital dysphoria, experimental sex, and shattering binaries.
The band has released one self recorded/released demo tape called “QUEERS OF JOY”, and is working on an official full length record. They have played in over ten states and two countries. They have opened for national acts like Big Freedia, Tank and the Bangaz, Kitten Forever, and Lex Allen, but will always live for basement shows. Most of all, they want to recruit you to the queer agenda.
MIYHA was born from Erik Fredine’s idea to initiate a new band with Alejandra Perez. As her former band Tarpaulin ended in July of 2016, Alejandra agreed to run a few song ideas past Erik. Erik enlisted the help of guitarist Mike Pellino, his co-member from bands We Should Have Been DJ’s and Tippy. Two years later and three bass players later, Miyha found Kyle Kohl. Kyle was the former bassist of Spaceship Parts and began playing bass in Madison band Parsing at the same time as rejoining Miyha in February of 2017. Miyha released their first LP “World’s Biggest Crush” on April 26th, 2019 on Heavy Meadow Records. As of August 2019 Miyha will be disbanding to pursue other ventures.
