Andy’s career spans from touring and recording with Ani Difranco to collaborating with artists like Goo Goo Dolls and Annie Lennox. His work is featured in global hits like Shannon Noll’’s #1 single “Shine” and songs for The Twilight Saga and Commonwealth Games.
Now, with Poetry of Birds, Andy reclaims his solo voice, offering hopeful, introspective tracks that reflect on life, love, and technology’s influence. His standout singles like “Beautiful Sky” and “Oxygen” invite us to slow down and appreciate the world around us.
For Darren Garvey, songs come from somewhere—an instrument, the confluence of two rivers, a scribble in his daughter’s sketchbook. Inspired by LGBTQ+ friends and family, Garvey penned “No Love Is Wrong,” a song about how “the shine of the sun finds everyone” regardless of who or how they love. With an overarching theme in his music of finding positivity in times of unrest, Garvey has followed the call from one great musical collaboration to the next.
Garvey is a member of Elephant Revival—a unique collection of multi-instrumentalists, and his expressive and inventive style has been utilized by Midwest artists like Cameron McGill, Trapper Schoepp, Daniel and the Lion, Miles Nielsen, Andreas Kapsalis, Chicago Farmer, and Cory Chisel.
A stint in the Colorado music scene found Garvey producing debut releases for Daniel Rodriguez, Nathaniel Riley, and Emma Rose while drumming behind the likes of Shook Twins, Courtney Hartman, Steve Poltz, Danny Barnes, Lindsay Lou, and co-producing a new Christmas song with The Lumineers. A recent transplant to Milwaukee, Garvey lives with his wife and two daughters and is currently performing music from his forthcoming full-length record “As A Scribble.”
