Anthony Caulkins is a dark Americana musician who specializes in guitar and banjo performance. He brings a dark vibe that blends the blues, rock, and industrial sounds for a fun and intense atmosphere. Anthony has always had a keen interest in the line between the sweet and the discordant. He explores that dichotomy in his songs through distorted banjo and free improvisation, as well as pleasant harmony and technical songwriting. In 2021, Anthony moved from Los Angeles, CA to Austin, TX which has opened up a whole world of blues performance which can be heard strongly in his newest music. He is currently performing and workshopping a set of blues inspired tunes for release in early 2023/ Originally from Madison, Anthony is excited to be back playing in his hometown after many years of working in California and Texas.
LAKEWAVES TRIO: A keyboard-heavy, neo-retro blend of progressive jam and open-structured jazz/rock that oscillates between daydream-like acoustic themes and darkly funky electric ones. The dreamy and Impressionistic, Carter-administration melodicism of keyboardist/pianist Graham Marlowe's compositions is something of a perfect match for the grungy, exploratory bass playing of Michael Landsman and the breezy, old-school dynamism of Will Bailey's drums and earthy percussion. The Trio has also been to known to present rhythms that are tranquil like a Cornell agricultural extension office at 6:00 am.
