Bleeding Lizard is a modern psychedelic-rock/jazz project formed in December of 2022 by Cameron Selbig and Benson Wood of Flying Fuzz. The project is illustrated by ideas of ego, psychotherapy, authenticity, psychedelia, and mysticism gathered from personal experiences with life and learning to love oneself unconditionally, breaking through illusions of the mind.

The project is sonically characterized by its versatility, with songs ranging from lush Beatles-esque ballads to heavy tripped-out stoner-rock anthems, creating a unique balance between the two that anyone can enjoy. Bleeding Lizard pulls inspiration from a wide range of artists from older classic rock giants (Pink Floyd, The Doors, Jimi Hendrix, King Crimson), 90s art-rock (Radiohead, The Verve), and newer names in the psych-rock genre (Kikagaku Moyo, Crumb, Sunbeam Sound Machine, Tame Impala).

The mission of this project is to give people cool new-sounding music to enjoy while also giving them something to think about and hopefully offering reassurance to those in need. Bleeding Lizard is also dedicated to bringing out the best in their fellow artists and look to collaborate with other creatives to push each other towards their individual and collective truths. This band aims to be a voice of guidance and encouragement for those who wish to party and find peace within this positively meaningless existence.
