Finnish psychotic heavy doom metal cult, origiginally formed as The Coven back in 2004, laughing at stoner/retro trends as Cardinals Folly since 2007.
Vanishing Kids is a psychedelic/goth rock band formed in Madison, Wisconsin in 2000 by Nikki Drohomyreky (vocals, keys) and Jason Hartman (guitar). They’re known for their dreamy, doom-infused sound blending 70s rock, shoe gaze, and metal, evolving from early dark rock to their acclaimed recent albums like Miracle of Death (2023). After a hiatus for family, they returned to Wisconsin and released new music. They continue to explore themes of life, death, and loss with intricate layers and powerful vocals and maintain a cult following in the doom and psychedelic scenes.
Flying Fuzz is a 4-piece band from Madison that specializes in playing doom and classic heavy metal tunes.
Mind Ox is a blue and tangled story. Intoxicating minor guitar melodies (Pete Stress: Skintones) entangle with schizoid lyrical poetry (Buddo: Last Crack, Magic 7, Vanishing Kids) in this band’s enduring catalog. The backbone of the band is the stalwart rhythm team of “Bear” and “Juan-Ton” Terrones. This is the original lineup together for 30 years. Search “Mind Ox: Eldorado” which was recorded/produced in the same rooms as Jane’s, AIC, Chili’s, etc.
Unique is not a strong enough word to describe The Heavils sound or The Heavils themselves. The band not only creates and builds their own distinctive guitars, known as Meanies, but also use them when recording and playing live. For the bands sophomore release through Metal Blade Records the band took a heavier approach to the music without losing their highly idiosyncratic style creating an album that will not be lost among countless summer releases.
Gildir is a musical project associated with raw, underground metal, releasing atmospheric, cold, and melodic black metal on Matyria Records.
