The Flavor That Kills (TFTK) will release their new album “Book of Secrits” (purposely misspelled) on January 26th 2024 on Shortwave Records in all digital formats. A special red vinyl version of the album will be released on March 1st 2024. This will be the third release from the band and first with additional guitarist Educational Davis. The band has moved from a four piece with a Rhodes Piano to a standard 2 guitar/bass/drum lineup. The album was engineered and mixed by Beau Sorenson (Bob Mould, Superchunck, Death Cab for Cutie) and recorded at Madison, Wisconsin’s own Coney Island Studios. “Book of Secrits” captures the live bravado and swagger of the band. The vinyl album has original artwork by Claire Kellesvig and a genuine secret inside that could lead to treasure for those who figure it out. Fans of Electric Six, The Killers, The Black Keys, and Butthole Surfers will enjoy the soul punk and psychotic rock vide of the album. It's a concept album about the origin of aliens and destruction of human civilization.
Nester is Meghan Hamilton, Riki Sjachrani, Jeff Carlson, Shawndell Marks, and Ginny Kincaid. We are a Madison based modern experimental rock band that originated in 2008. Influenced by a wide variety of music, from The Strokes to Radiohead, Nester incorporates many imaginative synth lines, cryptic lyrics, exhilarating guitar riffs, driving bass lines and stimulating drum beats that come together to create an original, beautifully rocking repertoire. Live, this five member band aims to please, traveling from serenity to explosiveness and leaves their audience sneakily inspired. Nester independently released their third studio album, Scale the Walls, in 2019.
