It's St. Patrick's Day season and we invite you to join the Lilies of the Midwest as they celebrate their first full-length album release! The Lilies are a trio of Irish traditional musicians in the Madison, Wisconsin area. Combining the unique sounds of concertina, mandolin, and fiddle, the Lilies of the Midwest inspire audiences with their infectious energy and joy. They will be joined by the album's guitarist, Rick Nelson, and some surprise guests. Together, they will perform the catchy arrangements from their new album to bring down the house! Every concert-goer will receive the brand spanking new album with original art by local artists Bryan Whiting and Alicia Rheal.
About the band:
Former step dancer Charlene Adzima delights audiences with her driving fiddle-playing, which is influenced by Grammy-nominated fiddler Liz Carroll. An Irish fiddle champion, Charlene has toured nationwide and notably had a residency at Dollywood.
Concertina player Kara Rogers studied with Solas accordionist John Williams. She is also the winner of the 2019 Midwest Fleadh Cheoil on concertina and she has competed in Ireland twice.
Multi-instrumentalist Jeanna Schultz began her mandolin career in college and she hasn't looked back. She is currently honing her skills on accordion under the tutelage of box master David Munnelly.
Special guest guitarist Rick Nelson, a musical cohort of Charlene’s since the 1990’s, employs an understated yet powerful style, deriving from the playing of masters of the tradition Mícheál Ó Domhnaill and Dáithí Sproule.
