Adem is a Madison, WI native who has spent the majority of his career living and performing in New York City and Seattle. He is an emcee/songwriter and singer/guitarist whose music style has deep roots in Hip-Hop, funk, reggae, and blues. Adem draws his inspiration from artists like Bob Marley, Jimi Hendrix, Tribe Called Quest, Gang Star, and the Roots.
Adem's music is unique and hypnotic. When I first heard Adem on stage, I was struck by his stature, his rich baritone voice, and his ability to share heartfelt warmth, energy, life wisdom, and profound emotion throughout his performance. The ease and flexibility of movement he achieves between and within genres is an impressive and special talent.
Last September, Adem and his band released a new album, What is it called - ATB?, and previously released two solo albums, D-iZ-lll “the Sickness” and “Athedage” with producer Rick Flowers, Mannie Sanchez and Matt Mueller and shared stage with acts like Red Man, Method Man, De la soul, Pharside, Ben Harper, Spearhead, and Jazzmatazz.
