Birddog Blues Band is a group of 'Award-Winning' musicians from some of Wisconsin and the Midwest's best musical combos. They play an eclectic mix of ‘dance-inspiring’ Blues, Rock, R&B and Soul.

The 'Players':

     Mel Ford, guitar/ vocals: Jazz performer and producer Ben Sidran calls Mel "one of the finest blues players in the Midwest, if not the country."  (Westside Andy/Mel Ford Band, Paul Black & The Flip Kings, Mel Ford & The Fairlanes, Cashbox Kings)  

     Tom McCarty, bass/ vocals (The Midwesterners, et al) 

     Ken Olufs, harmonica/ vocals (The Jimmy's, Crashers, Turnstyles, Barrelhouse Chuck Band, etc.)

     Joel Brantmeier, drums (Joel Pingatore & The Playground of Sound)

One of our posts from the Waukesha event, "I was there both days, for all 12 bands.  You were easily our favorite... very tasteful!"  (that lineup included Cathy Grier & The Troublemakers, Shawn Holt & The Teardrops, Blues Disciples, Altered Five Blues Band, The Duke Robillard Band and Sue Foley!)  We were in pretty good company!
