Most of us would probably admit that we all have different versions of ourselves - a professional version, a weekend version, a parental version, versions that only surface when we're alone in thought... on and on.... On their debut album, Poets and Neckties, Hollow Bill tries to fit itself squarely in between these different versions, where the lines blur and perspectives, fears, and ambitions all come together.
Over the course of the past 5 years, founding members Mike Dorrance (guitar/vocals), Andrew Schoenauer (percussion/guitar/vocals), and Keith Brown (bass) have been honing in on a sound that feels familiar yet unique in its own right. Inspired by a wide range of artists & genres, Poets & Neckties delivers a mix of country, 60s pop, and soulful rock, all nestled under a 'folk rock' umbrella.
Hanging their hats on rich harmonies, thought provoking lyrics, and catchy melodies, Hollow Bill provides a "...whole new brand of grunge-indie-Springsteen" (Adam Benavides of Maximum Ink) that aims to mirror the ups and downs of the everyday lives we all lead.
