The JB3’s were born out of an affinity of funk and jazz organ trio music.  Soulive being one of the most popular modern examples.  The band was created by Joey B. Banks in 2019 for a weekly residency at a local jazz club in Madison Wisconsin where the band performed jazz funk standards, and arrangements of Clyde Stubblefield tunes he performed with James Brown.  A few original tunes were even created during the one year residency that ended when the Pandemic began over a year ago.  The band is lead by Grammy nominated drummer and MAMA 2020 Drummer of the Year Joey B. Banks, Chicago bassist Chris Clemente, and Hammond B3 artist Todd Phipps and very special guest Pops Fletcher on guitar and vocals.
