Violet Palms combines early 2000s nostalgia and modern influences to create tight, direct rock music that is honest, occasionally goofy, and - because they can't help themselves - funky.
Their first album embraced the band motto, "don't think about it too much." Recording sessions were booked, heartily jammed upon, and in only a few short months, “Compassion Fatigue” emerged fully formed and ready to climb inside your head and take a seat in your favorite easy chair.
On their highly anticipated second record, “By Design And Accidental,” Violet Palms chose to go big with 15 tracks while still maintaining their tight riffs, soaring vocals, and nostalgic vibe. Basic tracks were laid down in one weekend at Blast House studios in Madison, WI, (mixed and mastered by head engineer (Landon Arkens), while vocals and additional tracking were recorded at guitarist and head songwriter Ben Feiner's studio, Black and White Pets.
The title "By Design And Accidental" is a lyric from True Love Counterfeit, the first single. It really resonated with the band and their writing style. Happy accidents almost always lead to the truth.
Violet Palms features American Players Theatre actors Marcus Truschinski and Tim Gittings, and YouTube icon Craig Benzine (WheezyWaiter).
